Muted Turquoise Leaves

I recently purchased some Liquitex Acrylic Ink and it's my first time trying it out. They dry quickly, are permanent, lightfast, water resistant and non-clogging. I'm already familiar with concentrated watercolours, so I thought I would try using them as I would liquid watercolour inks.

The colour I'm using here is called Muted Turquoise. I poured some onto a ceramic plate and used plenty of water to start painting. I thought this would work well to paint some leaves as I often paint leaves and stems in dark blue or greeny/blue hues.

Take a look at the video below to watch my process. I’m using some round brushes, some 100% cotton cold-pressed watercolour paper and just one colour of ink, but feel free to replace any of this with any materials you already have.

Why not try painting along? I thought this would also make a great warm-up before a longer painting session or just something fun, quick and relaxing to paint along with.
